Is there a free AI ad generator?
Yes — Draper has a free tier metered by drafts. You sign in with Google, get a monthly draft allocation, and pay nothing until you want more headroom. The free tier uses the same model as paid tiers.
Can it write Facebook ad copy?
Yes. Draper writes Meta primary text, headlines, and descriptions to the real platform character caps (2,200 / 255 / 255) and shapes them for the Facebook feed truncation (around 125 / 27 / 25). It also drafts a 1:1 image for the ad. It does not push the ad to Meta Ads Manager for you — you take the copy and image and run the ad yourself.
Can it make video ads or generate video?
No. Draper does not generate video. It writes copy for video-first platforms like TikTok — captions, hooks, calls to action — and generates a still image. If you need full video generation, this is not the tool today.
How is it different from ChatGPT?
ChatGPT is a generalist trained on broad internet text. Draper was trained on thousands of real paid ads paired with how long they ran and how much engagement they earned. ChatGPT has read about ad copy; Draper was shaped by it. Every Draper draft also comes back with a 0–100 score from a separate predictor — that piece does not exist in a stock ChatGPT setup.
Does it work for TikTok ads?
Draper writes TikTok captions and display names to the platform caps (100 and 20 characters respectively) and generates a still image. Video is not generated.
Does it write Google ads?
Yes, Responsive Search Ads only — up to 15 headlines and 4 descriptions per campaign. No images, no Display Network, no YouTube.
Which platforms does it support today?
Meta (Facebook + Instagram), TikTok, X, Reddit, Pinterest, and Google Search (RSA). LinkedIn, YouTube, Snapchat, and programmatic display are not supported yet.
Where did the training data come from?
Publicly indexed paid ads collected from each platform's ad library and from third-party indexes — thousands of campaigns that actually ran. Each ad came with measurable signals: how long it kept running, the engagement it earned, how it compared to peers on the same platform. We will publish the full methodology with general availability.
